blogger spotlight: le petit jardin de liloo (tsunimee)

Welcome to our second Blogger Spotlight where we give you the chance to get to know some of the more familiar names out there in the beauty and fashion blogging community.

This week we're talking to the lovely Liloo aka Tsunimee (Twitter) (YouTube) from Le Petit Jardin de Liloo.

Not only do we love Liloo's makeup looks and the tone of voice of her blog but she's a great supporter of affordable cosmetics brands such as beautyuk so we thought it only fair to show our support and feature her on our blog. Oh… and we think she's awesome too!

So let's get to know a bit more about Liloo…

Location:  Manchester (or thereabout)

How long have you been blogging and what do enjoy most about it?

I have been blogging since November 2009, so for about 2 years but I don’t post as often as others. Blogging for me is primarily a hobby which needs to fit around my life. What I enjoy the most about blogging is the feedback I get from readers, and exchanging ideas about new products to try and tips & tricks on how to use them.

What do you think it is about your blog that attracts your followers?

I’d like to think it’s my makeup looks and nail photos which attract my followers.

Other than your own, of course, can you recommend 3 other beauty blogs worth checking out?

This one is a no brainer:

- and Cosmetic Candy for unique style of writing, humour, amazing photography, and just genius all around.

- There are so many other blogs out there which blow me away and it’s extremely difficult to choose but I would need to mention Makeup your Jangsara which is a makeup blog, like no other. Her make up looks and photography are just out of this world. I would love to travel to Finland just to have my makeup done by this very talented artist.

What is it that you look for in a blog before you decide to follow it?

I love a blogger whose passion for the subject they blog about to jump out of the page. I love a light hearted and humourous style of writing and honest and down to earth reviews. Amazing and true to colours photography is the cherry on the cake and will always impress me.

Do you work or study? Please give details

I work full time from 9 to 5 and I have a secretarial / adminy type of job. My job doesn’t always allow for much creativity, and playing with makeup and nail polish when the sun goes down and at week ends is a nice outlet for me.

What are your other passions outside of beauty/fashion/blogging?

This might sound a bit geeky but I enjoy web design, creating pictures for the web and playing with fonts even though I am not very good at it.

What would you consider the most important piece of beauty advice you have been given? And is there any advice of your own you would like to share?

If you only have time for one thing in the morning, just make sure to moisturise using a product which contains a sun protection factor (SPF). Exposure to light (not just sun) accounts for 90% of the symptoms of premature skin ageing such as wrinkles. So, daily use of a SPF is your best anti wrinkle protection

I am far from being an expert but the one piece of beauty advice I would give is to give yourself plenty of time and practice to get better at putting false eyelashes on. The boost false eyelashes will give you is phenomenal and definitely worth the initial tears, tantrum and frustration.

Which product makes your statement the most? And how do you achieve your look?

Eyeshadow and false eyelashes not being part of the list, I would have to choose the eyeliner as making the best statement. It will add instant definition to your eyes.

What is your favourite ‘look’ at the moment?

I am obsessed with glitter at the moment. So for evening going out looks, I am finding hard to resist a dramatic cut crease eyemakeup with some bling glitter.

Which celebrities do you think are the current fashion and beauty trend setters?

Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Jessie J

If anybody, who in the public eye has inspired you personally the most? Why?

I love Katy Perry. This artist enjoys life and she’s having so much fun with her music, fancy fashion and makeup

What is your favourite clothing label?

I don’t have a favourite clothing label in particular in mind, any brands go as long at the item is nipped at the waist and makes me feel feminine and pretty ☺

If you could be living anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

Right now, I would love to teleport myself to warmer climes. Somewhere in Brazil would be nice.

Tell us one thing your followers may not already know about you

If you happen to fly from Heathrow Airport and use the luggage self checking-in facility machine in French, I will be the voice guiding you through the steps on how to do it :)

How long would you last without ANY makeup?

As long as I won’t bump into anyone, I can last one weekend without makeup.

What do you spend more money on?

Without a doubt, it’s makeup where I easily spend the most money on.

If you could create your own signature beauty product for beautyuk what would it be and what would you call it?

It would be a pair of evening false eyelashes. I would call them something along the lines of “tentatrice” or “ensorceleuse” (temptress or bewitching in French)

When did you first hear about beautyuk? And where did you hear about us?

Being born and bred in Reunion Island (near Mauritius) I only heard from beautyuk about 2 years ago through a friend I met on a makeup forum which no longer exists but it was beautyuk’s social media presence this year which made make the jump and go and try their products.

What is your favourite beautyuk product and why?

Hands down, it will have to be their 10 eyeshadow palette (please don’t ask me to choose my favourite palette). Very well pigmented, ultra portable and handy size, and most of all very affordable.

Are there any beautyuk products you are thinking of getting but haven’t tried yet?

I believe beautyuk is going to release some eyelashes and being a falsie addict, I can’t wait to play with them. I also want to try more nail polishes and the metallic eye sparks with their nifty colour coded gem at the end of the cap.

Thanks Liloo!! xx
